Joel Colyer is a freelance organist, pianist and musical director working in London and the South East. He studied at Chetham’s School of Music and then held the Organ Scholarship at Portsmouth Cathedral in 2021/22.
In addition to his post with the Hertford Chamber Choir, Joel is very active in church music and holds positions as Organ Scholar at Chingford Parish Church and as Acting Director of Music at St Mary Magdalene, Enfield. He has accompanied choirs at many of the major cathedrals in the UK, and has given recitals at a variety of venues, including at churches in the City of London and multiple cathedrals.
Outside of accompaniment work, Joel also teaches, works as an orchestral string player, and is a freelance musical director for theatre productions.
