Tapasya Sharma | Soprano
Raised in both the European and South Asian classical music traditions, Tapasya is a soprano with a uniquely multifaceted background as a musician.
She graduated in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) in Theoretical Physics from the University of Nottingham, during which she held a choral scholarship at Nottingham Cathedral. Blending her analytical background with a dedication to vocal studies, she went on to complete the Certificate Programme in Voice & Communication Aesthetics at the Accademia Europea di Firenze. Continuing her formal performance training, she will begin the Graduate Diploma in Vocal Studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in September 2026 under the tutelage of Patricia Rozario.
Tapasya’s rich choral experience encompasses a variety of liturgical and ensemble settings. She has performed at the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, with the Old Royal Naval College Chapel Choir in Greenwich, and with the Rudolfus Choir. Whilst at VI Form, she was awarded the Eunice Morgan Prize for Musician of the Year and was a dedicated member of the music department. In addition to classical singing, she also enjoys singing regularly with jazz ensembles, playing piano and has recently taken up the harmonium.
Beyond performance, Tapasya has worked as a peripatetic music teacher and continues to teach voice, piano and curriculum subjects privately, preparing students for ABRSM examinations as well as GCSE and A-Level music curricula. As a polyglot, she brings a deep passion for language, communication and text-setting to all of her vocal interpretation and sacred choral work.
