Alex Hardy, | HCS Conducting Fellow 2024/2025

Bass-Baritone Alex Hardy is currently studying his BMus in Vocal Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he studies with Professor Dr Robert Alderson; Choral Conducting with Dr Ralph Allwood MBE; and Conducting with Jonathan Tilbrook. Alex frequently performs as a principal role in the Trinity Laban Postgraduate Opera Scenes, with roles such as Truffaldino (Ariadne auf Naxos), Bartolo (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Leporello (Don Giovanni). He has also performed as a principal role in Errolyn Wallen’s opera Dido’s Ghost (Elymas/Sorceress). As a conductor, in September 2023 Alex was one of two students to ever conduct the Trinity Laban Chamber Choir.

Alongside his studies, Alex is a Dame Susan Morden Choral Scholar in the Old Royal Naval College Trinity Laban Chapel Choir where, as well as his duties, he regularly conducts the choir. Alex often performs as a soloist for Choral Society Workshops and Concerts, notably with The Northampton Bach Choir, Wimbledon Choral Society and Luminosa Choirs. He is also a regular Bass in the BBC Symphony Chorus, and enjoys their busy performance schedule both during the Barbican Season and during the BBC Proms.
